In a musical landscape increasingly defined by blending genres, electronic duo Seven Eight, is making their mark by fusing classic and contemporary sounds. Drawing from a rich pool of influences, from the timeless harmonies of Boyz II Men to the electronic innovations of Daft Punk, Seven Eight’s artistry reflects their bicultural roots and a deep understanding of both Latin and English-language sound harmonies.

With their new album Radiación slated for release in late 2025, the duo finds themselves releasing a collection of songs that celebrate vulnerability, movement, and the universal feeling of love and heartbreak.

Lead signer of Seven Eight, Jorge Del Real better known as SEVEN, shared that a testament to their music is the power of collaboration, as well as their authenticity and creativity.

As they prepare to bring this new era of their music to the stage, listeners can expect an exhilarating blend of deep feeling, infectious rhythms, and a rich fusion of musical genres in their upcoming album.

VOCALIST JORGE DEL REAL (SEVEN) UNVEILS FRESH BEATS ON UPCOMING ALBUM

We notice a strong blend of electronic and melodic elements in your music. Where do you draw inspiration from, and which artists have shaped your sound and songwriting style?

SEVEN: Seven Eight is a duo that merges modern and classic sounds, ranging from classic rock to contemporary electronic beats. Our musical influences span artists like Journey, Daft Punk, Skrillex, Bryson Tiller, and Drake, as well as R&B icons such as Boyz II Men. Many of our inspirations come from the U.S., since R&B has largely remained in English. But in the Spanish-speaking world, we really admire artists like Latin Mafia, who are at the forefront of the new pop wave.

There’s room for more breakup songs that make you want to move even after saying goodbye. Your latest single, “Daño,” does just that, blending emotionally charged lyrics with a danceable beat. What inspired this unique contrast?

SEVEN: That was exactly our intention. Daño is part of our EP Radiación, and with this track, we aimed to capture a melancholic vibe, touching on sadness and heartbreak, while infusing it with the kind of energy that electronic and EDM music brings, which is still pretty rare in Spanish-language music.

For us, the essence of electronic music is all about movement, it’s made for the club, and it lifts your mood. With Daño we wanted to create that contrast: heartfelt R&B lyrics and soulful vocals layered over an upbeat, danceable rhythm.

Your upcoming album Radiación blends emotional storytelling with a danceable electronic production. What themes or creative directions did you explore this time around?

SEVEN: The upcoming album, Radiación, is set to drop in 2025 and leans more into pop and electronic sounds, while still staying true to our R&B roots. The R&B influence comes through strongly in the vocals, but this time, the production is much more electronic.

With these tracks, we’re revealing a more vulnerable side of ourselves, while also showing we can bring the energy, have fun, throw a party, and experiment with faster tempos compared to songs like Pretextos, Moment0, and Enamora2.

Are there any particular genres you’re excited to explore next?

SEVEN: We’re excited to keep exploring R&B and electronic sounds in our music, but regional influences are always part of our identity, that’s why we also make music in Spanish. Being Mexican-American, we naturally draw from both cultures. I’d also love for what we’re doing to inspire regional artists to experiment more with pop, ballads, and R&B rhythms in their own work.

One of my favorite music videos on your YouTube channel is the acoustic version of Alert4. What inspired you to take a more stripped-down, acoustic approach with that project?

SEVEN: The acoustic version of Alert4 on YouTube takes on a ballad style and leans more toward Mexican pop. We’re really interested in releasing more of our music in acoustic form with a more organic, stripped-back production, and you’ll definitely hear a few of those versions on the new album.

We also saw your collaboration with Malcriado on Modelo and with Jay Lee on Pretextos. Will there be more collaborations with independent artists in the future?

SEVEN: Absolutely! We love that all our collaborations so far have been with artist friends we share a genuine connection and creative chemistry with. Our upcoming album features a collaboration with a French friend, and we’re excited to work with more French artists in the same organic way.

We’re also looking forward to teaming up with more producers. We think they’re often underappreciated, and we want to support and add to their work. Plus, we’ve got more tracks in the works with Malcriado and Jay Lee

If you could collaborate with any artist in the world, in English or Spanish, who would it be?

SEVEN: Definitely Daft Punk, if we ever got the chance, we’d even try to bring them out of retirement! We’d also love to team up with Skrillex as a producer, and collaborate with artists like Drake, Post Malone, and Paco Amoroso and Catriel.

What is one essential item you consider a personal must-have when preparing for a show?

SEVEN: My checklist before leaving the house is always the same: keys, wallet, phone, and sunglasses. I’ve collected tons of sunglasses over the years, I probably have more than one thousand pairs and it’s a lifesaver item for me.
