In today’s global music economy, chart success is inseparable from technical excellence. Few engineers embody that reality as clearly as ALEO, the Los Angeles–based GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY–winning recording and mixing engineer whose work has powered Billboard #1 records, RIAA-certified gold and platinum releases in the United States, and projects surpassing one billion lifetime streams. While often recognized for his versatility as a producer and songwriter, ALEO’s defining impact lies in his engineering work: where sound, precision, and commercial performance intersect.
A cornerstone of ALEO’s career is his ongoing collaboration with Juanes, one of Latin music’s most influential artists. As a recording and mixing engineer on Juanes’ critically acclaimed 2023 album Vida Cotidiana.
ALEO played a key technical role in a project that earned a:
- GRAMMY Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album
- Latin GRAMMY Award for Best Pop/Rock Album,
- Latin GRAMMY Album of the Year nomination.
The album’s recognition by NPR Alt.Latino and its strong commercial performance in the U.S. market underscore the measurable impact of ALEO’s engineering contributions on a world-class release.
The Engineer Behind Juanes and a Generation of Global Records
ALEO’s engineering work spans a diverse roster of internationally recognized artists operating at the highest levels of the industry. His credits include projects with A.CHAL, whose album Espíritu was named one of Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of the Year, and María Isabel, whose release i hope you’re very unhappy without me was included in Rolling Stone’s list of the 35 Best Spanish-Language Albums. His work with Ilegales on Tropicalia further highlights his technical range, contributing to a Latin GRAMMY–nominated album blending contemporary tropical, pop, and fusion elements.
What distinguishes ALEO as an engineer is not only the caliber of the artists he works with, but the commercial and institutional validation of those projects. His engineering credits include Billboard #1 records, multiple RIAA gold and platinum certifications in the U.S., and releases through major labels such as Universal Music Group, Warner Records, and Sony Music. In an industry increasingly driven by streaming performance and global reach, ALEO’s work consistently meets both artistic and commercial benchmarks.

Now, ALEO is entering a new phase of his career with an upcoming project that brings together artists from Colombia, the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and beyond. On this release, he serves simultaneously as producer, artist, and recording/mixing engineer, applying the same technical rigor that has defined his work, reinforcing the role of engineering as a driving force behind globally competitive music.
