The Mars Volta continue to expand the sonic world of their latest era with “Voice in My Knives / Poseedora De Mi Sombra,” a new release that brings together live performances from the band’s 2025 tour. The track is the third preview of LUCRO SUCIO; UNFINISHED BUSINESS, their forthcoming album set to arrive November 20.
Rooted in performances captured during the band’s landmark 2025 tour, the upcoming project reimagines material from Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacío through a collection shaped by the energy of the stage and the connection between the band and its audience.
In an interactive experience hosted on The Mars Volta’s official website, fans were invited to listen to live excerpts and vote for the performances they wanted to hear featured on the album, giving listeners a direct role in shaping the final release.
“Voice in My Knives / Poseedora De Mi Sombra” brings together fan-favorite performances from Brooklyn, Miami, and San Diego, weaving different moments from the tour into a cohesive listening experience. The release follows September’s “Reina Tormenta / Enlazan Las Tinieblas,” continuing the rollout of an album that revisits the band’s material through the perspective of its live performances.
Known for their ambitious compositions and boundary-pushing approach to alternative rock, The Mars Volta have built a catalog defined by experimentation, intensity, and a willingness to challenge conventional song structures. This latest project places the live experience at the center, highlighting not only the band’s performances but also the audience’s role in preserving and revisiting those moments.
Following the conclusion of their North American tour, the band is preparing to return to Mexico for two upcoming appearances. The Mars Volta will perform at Tecate Comuna in Puebla on November 28, followed by a headlining show at Pepsi Center WTC in Mexico City on November 29.
