The inaugural edition of La Chona Fest also featured an impressive lineup of Regional Mexican artists, including Los Rieleros del Norte, Los Cadetes de Linares, Los Dinámicos, Los Tiranos del Norte, El As de la Sierra, Tapy Quintero, and special guest Luis Coronel, establishing the festival as a new destination for celebrating Mexican music and its rich cultural heritage.
This latest recognition comes during a landmark year for Los Tucanes de Tijuana. In recent weeks, “La Chona” has once again emerged as one of the defining anthems of celebration throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while also becoming the centerpiece of a special collaboration with OXXO in Mexico, further demonstrating the remarkable staying power of a song that continues to captivate new generations and create unforgettable cultural moments.
LOS TUCANES DE TIJUANA HONORED FOR THEIR ENDURING LEGACY AT THE FIRST-EVER LA CHONA FEST

During the evening, Downtown Distribution, the global distributor of Los Tucanes de Tijuana’s catalog, presented the group with a commemorative plaque recognizing 20 Platinum certifications earned by “La Chona,” celebrating the commercial success and enduring impact of one of the most influential songs in Regional Mexican music.
The band also received an official recognition from Los Angeles City Council District 9, honoring their invaluable contributions to music and the Latino community, as well as their decades-long ability to bring together families, communities, and generations through their music.

Following the tremendous success of the inaugural La Chona Fest, Los Tucanes de Tijuana are preparing to bring their music to Europe, where they will soon launch a new international tour that will reconnect them with fans across multiple countries, further reinforcing the global reach of one of the most influential groups in the history of Regional Mexican music.
